Your Bio

After working first, for a short time, as an architect and then for a much longer time as a physics professor I have returned to a childhood interest in nature. This interest along with a desire to capture the beauty of nature has led to nature photography and my website here.
One area of particular interest is butterflies and eventually one will be able to view galleries covering all 6 families of butterflies as well as birds and flowers, both wild and from the garden. Presently I have 5 of the 6 families of butterflies represented. All butterfies photographed were freely flying butterflies found in the eastern United States.
Besides butterflies I dabble in birds and flowers. The bird photos fall into two broad categories, wild and those of the National Aviary. The flowers also fall into two broad categories, wild and garden flowers.
All of my photos can be purchased. If interested please email me at jim5@psu.edu
